National Lease Advisors recently attained a lease administration client that was previously serviced by a global real estate firm. Whenever NLA takes over an assignment from another company, we always audit all past work to ensure no mistakes were made. In this instance, we found the prior firm missed the client receiving three months of free rent and a Base Year reset. The landlord did not address the overpayment with the client. When we reached out to the landlord, they provided our client with a three-month rent credit plus credit for the overpayment of CAMs due to the base year being reset. Without our due diligence, it is likely that the client would never have recovered the overpayment.
